I find Sennett’s The Uses of Disorder to be useful personally, politically, and, of course, for its perspective on cities.
First, I appreciate the reminder he provides that I should take conflict on more willingly and disallow myself from becoming sheltered, both personally and within relationships. I know I need to embrace interaction with others, but his sociological reasons for doing so...
